Gap Years and Internships for the New Year
Our gap year programme is perfect for those who enjoy working with young people, seek experience in a professional yet community-focused setting, and are uncertain about their next steps. This opportunity offers support in discovering your path while making a meaningful impact. Join us and gain invaluable experience while contributing to a cause that truly matters.

Key Information

Much of our work revolves around facilitation, so our youth workers must be confident public speakers and attentive listeners. Our youth work demands authenticity, empathy, adaptability, and a positive approach to the challenges young people face. We operate within a community setting, understanding that life is often complex and not always clear-cut. Embracing the diversity of our world, we are committed to affirming and celebrating each individual's unique identity.

More Opportunities

Our team is made up of dedicated and experienced Youth Workers who bring diverse expertise and a shared passion for supporting young people. We prioritise building strong relationships and tailoring our approach to meet each individual's unique needs. Schools often engage us to deliver a variety of programmes and activities throughout the school years, allowing us to walk alongside students throughout their education and beyond. This long-term involvement ensures we provide consistent guidance and support, helping young people thrive both in school and in their future endeavours.
We are particularly interested in people who have any number of the following skills:
  • Te Reo Māori speakers and people who have an understanding of Te Ao Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Handy skills such as building, arts, crafts, sewing, gardening and cooking
  • Musical/performing arts
  • Theological knowledge and understanding
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Writing and storytelling
